Research Group Leader in mm-Wave & Synthesizer IC Design

The Leibniz Institute IHP performs research and development primarily in the area of wireless communications, including SiGe-based technologies, diagnostics, and materials research. The institute is working in a multidisciplinary environment, spanning materials, process technology, circuits, and systems. The IHP is housed in a state-of-the-art building 55 minutes from Berlin, with ultra-modern facilities. The institute’s innovations are in worldwide demand.
The position as Research Group Leader in mm-Wave & Synthesizer IC Design offers a unique opportunity to take part in German and international research projects in the area of 10 GHz – 250 GHz wireless IC design. Research work is focused on mm-wave/THz design with leading edge SiGe BiCMOS technologies. Our facilities involve top-level design tools, excellent laboratory equipment, and our in-house SiGe BiCMOS pilot line.
The successful candidate has a PhD (magna cum laude is desirable) in Electrical Engineering or Physics and a few years experience in the field of mm-wave IC Design. The candidate is expected to be highly motivated with very good experimental and theoretical skills. Candidates must have experience in project leadership and must be willing to supervise PhD students. Very good oral and written skills in German and English are mandatory.
