Research of the Circuit Design Department
The activities of the department Circuit Design are focused on the research program "RF Circuits".
In this program mm-wave circuits, broadband mixed-signal circuits and integrated circuits for ultra-low-power wireless applications will be designed and realized as prototypes.
Millimeter-Wave RF circuits for frontends and synthesizers for wireless communication at currently 10 to 200 GHz are under development.
Concepts and electronic components for fiber-optic broadband communication systems with data rates up to > 100 Gbps per Laser wavelength will be developed. Examples are extremely broadband amplifiers, A/D- and D/A-converters as well as fast logic and real-time analog/digital signal processing.
Ultra-low-power RF frontends and components for sensor networks with a target battery lifetime of ten years are under development.
