Prof. E. Yablonovitch visits IHP
“Prof. Eli Yablonovitch from University of Berkeley, an outstanding scientist in the field of semiconductor and device physics, has become the director of the recently funded “Energy Efficient Electronics Science (E3S) center” in Berkeley, a multi-institutional US center focusing on new materials and device approaches to reduce electronics appetite for power. Prof. Eli Yablonovitch outlined in his talk at IHP on the 22nd June 2010 the huge consumption of power by electronic equipment in modern societies and the need to reduce these environmental as well as economic costs in the future. He discussed with IHP scientists various approaches to achieve this goals including materials science, technology as well as circuit and system design approaches.”
