The IHP invites applications for a position in
Graphene Film Development for Analog High Frequency Transistor Applications
AZ 0011/10
The Leibniz Institute IHP performs research and development primarily in the area of wireless communications, including SiGe-based technologies, diagnostics, and materials research. The institute is working in a multidisciplinary environment, spanning materials, process technology, circuits, and systems. The IHP is housed in a state-of-the-art building 55 minutes from Berlin, with ultra-modern facilities. The institute’s innovations are in worldwide demand.
Given the approval of requested 3rd party funding projects, we are seeking a candidate with a PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or Electronics for research in the field of “Graphene Film Development for Analog High Frequency Transistor Applications”. The project is focused on the development of Si technology compatible methods for graphene film preparation. Furthermore, integration of graphene into novel high frequency transistors for analog applications will be pursued.
The position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of semiconductor technology in an upcoming new R & D field. The Postdoc will mainly participate in experimental material science studies at state-of-art in-house research facilities of IHP. In addition, modern 3rd generation synchrotron radiation facilities in Europe will be used for electronic thin film studies. She/He will also be engaged into the development, design, and fabrication of novel graphene-based microelectronic devices.
The successful candidate must have gained experience in the field of graphene research, e.g. during her/his PhD thesis. Furthermore, a well-developed knowledge of solid state physics and electronics is a clear advantage.
The IHP offers a challenging, multinational environment, with excellent career prospects for highly motivated individuals. You will have the opportunity to establish an international reputation at the forefront of high tech. Salary will be paid according to German TV-L scale.
The position will be filled as quickly as possible.
The IHP seeks to incorporate more women into the science field. Therefore women are strongly encouraged to apply.
