The IHP invites applications for a position in the research of
Middleware Platforms and Security Solutions for embedded Systems
and Wireless Sensor Networks

The Leibniz Institute IHP performs research and development primarily in the area of wireless communications, including SiGe-based technologies, diagnostics, and materials research. The institute is working in a multidisciplinary environment, spanning materials, process technology, circuits, and systems. The IHP is housed in a state-of-the-art building 55 minutes from Berlin, with ultra-modern facilities. The institute’s innovations are in worldwide demand.

The research work is embedded into national as well as international projects which are partly funded by the Federal Research Ministry and the European Commission. The following topics are to be dealt with:
- Robust and reliable data storage in embedded systems and wireless sensor networks
- Security and privacy solutions on embedded systems and wireless sensor networks.
A PhD degree can be pursued and will be encouraged.

The successful candidate has a PhD or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science for investigating middleware and security solutions for embedded systems and wireless sensor networks. The candidate will be highly motivated with a strong research record, networking background and excellent knowledge on crypto-primitives, operating systems, and/or driver programming. Skills in at least two of the following programming/specification languages are essential: Java; C++; C; System C; VHDL; UML; SDL; Matlab. Industrial experience would be an advantage.
