IHP MR Dept. (Dr. G. Capellini) will team up with colleagues in RWTH Aachen (Univ.-Prof. Dr. J. Witzens), Forschungszentrum Jülich (Dr. Dan Buca), and Institut für Halbleitertechnik at Universität Stuttgart (Dr. Michael Oehme) in a challenging research aimed at demonstrating an electrically- pumped infrared laser based on GeSn/SiGeSn heterostructures.

Project "THz sensors for biological applications" funded by DFG started

Goal of the project is the development of semiconductor based plasmonic sensor platform in the frequency range of 0.5 THz to 2 THz for detection of protein conformations. It runs in the framework of DFG priority program "ESSENCE".
