IHP and Poznan University of Technology (PUT) founded in 2014 the Joint Lab “Połączyć - Interfacing – Verbinden” to collaborate across national borders on research and education for highly functionalized “More than More” Si microelectronics. To further strengthen common activities, the teams from IHP and Poznan inaugurated on 18th July 2017 the new surface science cluster laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment for modern materials research, allowing even for in-situ materials characterization with atomic scale precision. Future research activity will focus on questions of fundamental physics to evaluate the potential of innovative optoelectronic materials like graphene and germanium tin semiconductors for future advanced Silicon technologies.
