Focus
In the age of social-media and 24hrs connectivity data centers became a corner-stone of the internet. At the same time, disaggregation became a central topic for implementing future computing infrastructure. With this in mind photonic-electronic integration and scalability of photonic solutions moved into the focus of major electronic companies worldwide. During the last decade, there has been considerable effort world-wide to realize opto-electronic communication systems using silicon technology. Our main focus is development and application driven research in the field of silicon-based technologies, components and systems for high bit rate communications. Leveraging IHP’s high-speed RF SiGe:C BiCMOS technology and innovate in-house technology integration will enable opto-electronic technologies fit for future transceiver sub-systems and photonic-electronic ASICs.
