Diversity is a guarantee for generating surprising impulses and new ideas which provide the basis for all research. Taking into account various points of view and experiences is key for our research and development at IHP. Therefore, we make it a priority to recognize and to develop each colleague's potential, without regard to sex, age, national origin, religion, and/or disability.




International Setting

At IHP, you have the possibility to work in multi-national teams with colleagues from 23 nations. We foster this teamwork with training in intercultural communication. German and English are spoken at IHP: especially for new colleagues from abroad, we provide a Relocation Service and free German lessons. Weekly English classes are also available.

Actively Supporting Women in Research

We depend on the creative potential of women and men in order to maintain and to strengthen our competitive edge. One of IHP’s goals for the coming years is increasing the percentage of women in research positions. Female pupils and students can learn about research and professional life from our female research staff at many events, including Zukunftstags (“Future Day”; “Girls and Technology Congress”) and the Summer School Microelectronics.

For our commitment to diversity and equal opportunities, IHP was certified with the Total E-Quality Award (TEQ) the first time in 2010 and did defend the certificate in 2013 as well as in 2016. For the further award winners 2016 see below:
